Barcode Scanner & QR Scanner Privacy Policy

This document details how App Build Studio handles on-device data processing, camera and storage permissions, and third-party advertising frameworks in accordance with Google Play Developer Policies.

100% Local Storage

Scan history and generated codes remain strictly on your Android device.

Zero Data Harvesting

We never record, intercept, or upload your live camera frames.

Biometric Lock

Fingerprint & secure lock options keep your codes safe from snooping.

One-Tap Purge

Clear scan history or uninstall to instantly wipe all local data forever.

1. Information Collection

Our application is designed to prioritize your privacy. Most of the data processed by the app (scanned barcodes, generated codes, and history) is stored locally on your device. We do not collect or store your personal identity on our servers.

Key Principle: All barcode and QR decoding computations are executed in real-time on your smartphone's hardware processor without relaying code contents to remote cloud servers.

2. Permissions Usage

To provide barcode scanning and image decoding functionalities, the application requests the following Android runtime permissions:

Camera (android.permission.CAMERA)

Required to scan barcodes and QR codes. The camera stream is processed locally and is never recorded or uploaded. Camera feed frames are evaluated frame-by-frame in memory and immediately discarded once decoded.

Storage (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE)

Used to save generated barcodes and import images from your gallery for scanning. The application accesses only the specific image file selected by you via the Android system Photo Picker.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following Google services to improve your experience:

Google AdMob Advertising Network

To display advertisements. AdMob may collect device identifiers to serve personalized ads according to Google’s Advertising Policies and user consent preferences.

Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics Diagnostics & Telemetry

To collect anonymous usage statistics and crash reports, helping us improve app stability, troubleshoot runtime exceptions, and optimize battery performance.

User Messaging Platform (UMP) Consent Management

To manage your privacy preferences and consent for advertisements in strict compliance with the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and regional ePrivacy directives.

4. Data Security

Your local data is stored within the app’s private directory, inaccessible to other applications. If you enable Biometric Lock in settings, your data is further protected by your device’s secure authentication system.

5. Your Rights

You have full control over your data. You can clear your entire scan history at any time through the app settings. Since we do not store your data on our servers, deleting the app will remove all local data associated with it.

Zero Residual Trace: Uninstalling the application triggers Android's OS package manager to automatically wipe the private sandbox directory containing all cached codes and local SQLite records.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.

7. Children’s Privacy

This Service does not collect any personal information. We do not knowingly target or collect data from children under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
